They walked around the expo bringing students who were interested to learn more over to us and handed out flyers<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">There were many interested students and it was a great opportunity to talk about some of the paths a Dive Instructor qualification can take you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">From this effort we have got twenty people to come along to some of our free try dives sessions over the next month. This experience \u00a0will show them what all the excitement of the underwater world is about and give options on them completing their PADI Open Water course or becoming a PADI Dive Professional.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">If any of you out there are interested in where a career in diving can take you? Then below are a few of the many Careers Options we talked about:<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\"><u id=\"ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1438026879751_2542\">Dive Tourism<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">The joys of SCUBA diving, are such that it is an industry which people want to share with each other. Dive Tourism exists all over the world, and the variety of dive sites, from Ice Diving to the Tropics, Underwater Caves to Deep Blue Holes, with what seems to be an endless amount of marine species waiting to be discovered. Dive instructors and dive masters can work with dive centres, cruise liners, live-aboards, resorts, and in dive shops.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\"><u>Police Diver<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">Police may need to do underwater searches, which is in addition to their normal duties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">The New Zealand police dive squad is responsible for search and recovery of bodies and evidence. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.police.govt.nz\/about-us\/structure\/teams-units\/dive-squad\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #dc1a9b\">http:\/\/www.police.govt.nz\/about-us\/structure\/teams-units\/dive-squad<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\"><u>Commercial Diver<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">Off shore oil rigs, ships, inland nuclear plants, bridge building and inspection, and waste water treatment plants, are all places a commercial diver may be working. Combining their construction and engineering skills with diving, this can be a very interesting career. Underwater welding, is certainly less noisy and hot, and has the benefit of not breathing in the fumes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\"><u id=\"ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1438026879751_2544\">Underwater Photographer and Film Making<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">Underwater film makers, and photographers inspired by the likes of Jacques Cousteau, and National Geographic, are revealing the beauty of the underwater world onto the screen. New Zealand\u2019s Richard Robinson, <a id=\"ecxyui_3_16_0_1_1438026879751_2547\" href=\"http:\/\/depth.photoshelter.com\/gallery-collection\/Marine-Mammals-of-New-Zealand\/C0000GYBtBkc88eg\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #dc1a9b\">http:\/\/depth.photoshelter.com\/gallery-collection\/Marine-Mammals-of-New-Zealand\/C0000GYBtBkc88eg<\/span><\/a>, is an award winning photographer who&#8217;s underwater images show great talent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\"><u>Marine Biologist<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\">For those who study biology, zoology, and ecology, becoming a SCUBA diver, can mean they have access to studying and working in the marine environment.
